Wow, guys. Seems i have missed a lot since i left you ages ago :-)

Seems i have to take a look at this again to get the latest updates to the MIST board. What quartus version do you use? I just learned that i cannot built stable minimig cores anymore and the only thing i changed is the quartus version.

You don't happen to have done some work on the MIST, do you?

I'm still using Quartus 10.1SP1, it works great for me, so I'm sticking to it ;)

Did you try building minimig with the old sdram controller? Someone reported that the build I did with the fixed audio didn't work for him, (strangely, it worked fine on my board), so I built one with the old sdram controller and he reported it worked.

Mist work is coming, I have great plans to finalize on that board ;)

That sounds really good. Don't hesitate to ask for assistance.

Newer versions of Quartus support multiprocessing => compiling is much faster.

But support for Cyclone II has been dropped from the free Edition from 13.1 onwards (doesn't matter for MIST, but does matter for DE1 and DE2, of course) - making 13.0 and 13.0 sp1 the only options if you want both multiprocessing and Cyclone II support.

Does multiprocessing even make much of a difference in Quartus 13? AFAIK it only gets you 1 - 2 %. Single core performance is still king - at work we actually use an overclocked, watercooled Core-i7 gaming PC for building FPGAs, because it beats our 16-core Xeon-based servers in single threaded tasks by a wide margin ;)

Support for Cyclone2 has also been dropped from the Subscription edition in 13.1 onwards.

Don't be surprised if the silicon soon goes "end-of-life".

Soon be time to look at porting it across to something like the DE1-SOC...

Cheers,
Red

I just found that the latest Quartus 13.1.4 update fixes the problems with the minimig core. Maybe there was something broken in 13.1.0

The Atari ST core has learned a few things which may also be useful for the Amiga/Minimig. I e.g. implemented a NE2000 compatible device which usesa DLink DUB-E100 USB ethernet gadget connected to the MiST.

If i am not completely mistaken, then the a600 supported NE2000 based PCMCIA cards. Shouldn't be too difficult to port this part of the Atari ST core over to the Minimig core.

@chaos: I've noticed Turrican II tittle screen is broken on DE1 port. Music and graphics are too fast, corrupted.
I've also tried the whdload version and it has the same problems.
