And there is one more toy: DE1-SOC. A Cyclone V board with 2 ARM cores and Linux available... so we can combine hardware and software emulation to get a better Amiga...

Do you already own this board ? I had just a look at Terasic Website and it´s not possible to order the DE1-SOC anymore.

May be temporarily unavailable till they produce more stock of the RevC version of the board.

Revision B of the DE1-SoC board has a bug with the JTAG order which creates problems with the DS-5 tool.
See: http://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page/ ... wan&No=886

I have one of the revB boards.
It would be (theoretically) possible to mod the RevB board to the revC configuration.
The 0Ohm link resistors are on the top side of the board IIRC.

Cheers,
Red

They have them here: http://www.kamami.pl/index.php?productID=211736

and now I am waiting for all paperwork needed for my university department to buy an academic version of it. Maybe at the end of this month.

I have it ordered, I'm currently on the waiting list, last I heard I should be getting it sometime in August. So if you want it, just place your order even though the Terasic page says it is not available (but like I said there is a waiting list).

Terasic delayed the delivery date several times so i have bought a zedboard. The Board has a hdmi transmitter i think it would be a nice platform
for 50Hz retro computer cores.

Got the DE1-SoC yesterday, had a quick play with it and it sure is a great board with some awesome features! I'll surely have lots of fun using it ;) The system is quite more complex than your average FPGA, so I still have lots of reading manuals to do ;)

Cheers!

The Parallax company published source code of its Propeller 8-core MCU @ GPL3. The code is written mainly in Verilog with some left AHDL top level files.
It run on DE2-115 @ up to 145 MHz, giving then up to 290 MIPS and eats about 16000 LEs and 655360 memory bits which is about 1/6 of DE115 resources.
Can be very useful for making systems with this board.

Has anyone got Minimig working on this board yet? I've been toying with getting a DE2-115 as it's got a massive FPGA that should meet my needs for the foreseeable future. I'd like to be able to do something interesting with it out of the box though.

Hi James. Compare the DE2-115 with the DE2-70. You will see advantages and disadvantages. Also, if you plan to do emulation of vintage computers, maybe the DE2 (even though with a smaller FPGA) can be a good option as well.

Anybody still working on the port for the DE2-115...I bought it with the hope that it would get a port...
had it out of the box only once to run the bitcoin miner core for about a day...waste of money...heheheh

probably better to just buy another MiST board instead?
