So over the last few days I've been trying every trick in the book to squeeze as much speed out of the Chameleon 64's Minimig core as I can.

I'm not quite done yet, there's still scope to merge longword writes into a single burst, but here's the result so far:

Source is in my github (writebuffer branch), and a binary release will follow soon.

That's FAST!!
However, the main concern with the Chameleon 64 port is compatibility. Last time I checked, it was unable to run Lost Vikings, for example. I will test this new version. Great work!!

Oh agreed - this won't improve compatibility, in fact it might even make it worse (though it shouldn't since it barely affects non fast-RAM access, if at all). What it does allow is for Octamed OSS to play back certain S3M modules without stuttering. :)
