SD card controller is written in Z80 code for SMS.
But if you have an SD card controller in VHDL code, I'd like to try ...

Actually the one I'm working on is host-based too - in fact it's derived from the Minimig boot code. So is the source for this Z80 code easily accessible and modifiable?

I've not used it, but this looks interesting - though again it's SD/MMC only, no SDHC as yet: http://opencores.org/project,spimaster

I tried formatting a 2GB non-sdhc Kingston micro-sd in a Windows7 machine.
Results are the same: could not initialize SD card.

That's strange, I know I test micro SD and working, but is the fact that it was on the spare IO output. I'll do some more tests and I will write what the author has experienced.

@minimig_emu
Do you stopped the development/porting?

What is with Minimig original SDCARD support? Possible?

Thanks

Wow, I was also asking the same thing myself today. Master System on the Minimig V1.1 board.. so close yet so far! I never got the adapter to work so I was unable to load a single ROM :(

I want to finish ARM firmware (now 99% complete) and release it.
Then there will be interest in the direct loading files from the SD card for emulators.

This very same Sega Master System implementation has recently been ported to the MiST FPGA board. The core can be downloaded at https://code.google.com/p/mist-board/source/browse/trunk/bin/cores/sms/.
