Maybe using zxmmc and resiDOS (as in the Chameleon64 ZX Spectrum core port) would be what he means: loading titles from SD, from tape images in a FAT16 partition.

I do not understand! Normally works tape loading, the pin "USER 0". Since the first version.

OK I did not know or remember this ;)

But there is a problem. "user 0" is/was the Spare-IO pin 3 and is wired up to s-ram _OE on an expanded 4MB Minimig board.
So it can not be used as an data in/out and would enable the extra s-ram chip in the process.

Therfor I suggested to better use a joy port pin for this.

Thus, a small update ZX Spectrum 48: this version is still test :)

1) loading the tape pin "USER1"
2) soft reset (F1)
3) Kempston joystick support (JOY1)
4) support for AY-3-8912 (beeper and AY sound are not mixed together, "left-beeper" and "right-AY." The sound is not quite correctly, I will examine)

Thanks for the update, the core works well :)
I did not try to load anything due to missing hardware and zx-tape image.

"user1" pin should be no problem since this is free and only used by the Buzzer in current Minimig core.

Thanks for the core, minimig_emu.
Anybody has any schema to make a tape2minimig cable using user1 pin?
My soldering skills are near to null, how difficult is to make one of these cables?

Thanks in advance.

The user1 pin is to find at the Spare-IO header.
Its the middle one showing to S-RAM side.
Click - The "SP+" marked one is "user1".

A resistor of about 100 Ohm in chain to the tape device is recommended to protect the FPGA.

Hey Boing4000, thanks for the info.
It's anybody currently selling the cable already done?
i'm terrible with the welder :)

You can take an old PC case and use one of the "LED wire".
Some of them have same pin grid size (as the HDD LED).
Plug the i.e. orange wire on SP+ and the white one to SP-.
Then cut the LED off and solder a 100Ohm resistor into the orange wire and connect the other end of the resistor to the tape device "line out".
The white cable can directly connected with the tape device shield (line out GND rim).

some draft:
Code:
SP+ ---- orange wire ----[ 100 Ohm ]----=> Tape line out top

SP- ---- white wire --------------------() Tape line out rim/shield (GND)

This should work to load any tape file.
And you only have to solder at the wires, not at the Minimig board :)

Small update ZX Spectrum:
Added memory expansion compatible with ZX128 +/+2 / Pentagon 128/256/512
added support Kempston Mouse

Upload tomorrow. Bin file, it's still in testing phase :)

Hi all,
@boing4000,thanks for the schema! it seems easy to do... I'll look for an electronics store where they can make it for me.
@minimig_emu, I hope not to bother if I ask how are the tests going? Will you release the new core?
In a few days, I hope, I'll get the cable to load taps in minimig.
Thanks for your work and help, guys.
