Yes it looks very cool.

Now we just need to wait and see if and when the core becomes available to download.

Interesting. I've never used a NES, but the more cores the merrier. Anything that makes a particular piece of hardware attractive to more people means larger sales and a cheaper per-unit production run.

Yes, this may sound like blasphamy, but I wouldn't mind seeing a 286 core with VGA.

This sounds really promising !

Another core I would reallllly be looking forward to too, is a port of the Experiment-S core (http://www.experiment-s.de/en/).

A dual booting Atari ST / Amiga Minimig would be awesome and technically feasible. (with the Apple Plus, it would be a trio of legendary 68k machines ;)

Anyway, just dreaming.

We need a new FW which doesn´t look for "minimig1.bin" then, but for something like "core.bin" or similar, so that it is more generic when we have one SD card for each Core+games.

Kinda like a generic firmware, so that minimig isn´t locked to being an Amiga emulator board only.

PLUS: We need a place where cores are uploaded so that everyone can download and try and feedback on their experiences.

The name of the core file is not the point. More importand is the content (simulated hardware) and of course the PIC communication. In fact the PIC is right now based on Amiga-Chipset requirements and should be more flexible.
But this is a bit more complex as even porting a new core to the FPGA. The PIC must "auto" detect the loaded core and adapt itself to the now running FPGA system as C64/VIC20, Amstrad CPC, NES, Atari-ST etc.
All systems will require very different way of communication or handling its file data.

I dont think the existing PIC is able to handle this, cause the flashrom space is limited and right now nealry filled out with Amiga floppy + OSD handling.

I would love to own a suska III-C (Atari STE) but the cost is sooooo high. I already own a genuine STfm so it would be pointless paying more than €600 for something I already have :(

Did anybody ever try to contact the author of this core to try it on the Minimig?

Not that I know of, I remember looking at his page but not being able to find a contact e-mail address.

If anyone manages to contact him I would love to give him NES Core a go :-)
