Anyone know if the pin9 of the rs232 port is used in any way? I am thinking of bringing VCC out on it for the Bluetooth dongle I have, but don't want to mess it up too much :) In the schematics, it is marked with "RI" (and not "NC"), so I have my doubts.

The schematics label the pins on the DB9 with the standard RS232 pin functions, but according to the schematics neither pin 1 (CD) nor pin 9 (RI) are connected to anything.

If you're going to make power available at a pin that's normally expected to be an input, I'd suggest including a current-limiting resistor (might need to experiment to find a value low enough to work but high enough to offer some protection) just in case someone decides to connect a modem at some point in the future.

What is a modem? :)

Honestly, I have never even owned a modem. So I guess I am safe using pin9 then, that is great, expect a photo here at some point.
