These are very bad news.
It could be the ADF? I mean: it is a matter of the game or, maybe, with another ADF version it could work normally?

antiriad: I believe the PIC can handle HDFs nowadays. I'd make a small HDF (let's say 40MB) and install the Darkmere Whdload version there, along with some other classics while you're at it. Floppy version has LONG loading times that drive me crazy anyway. You're not missing much.

Unfortunately the game own loader is the problem.
I tried different ADF image but all failed on PIC driven Minimig. The same image at the same sd-card works with the ARM Controller.

In this general very rare case the WHDLoad option will be the best choice.
PS: User "Pace17881" seems to have a few assembled and programmed ARM controller available for private sale.

WHDLoad is awesome on the Minimig if you use a minimal startup-config and lauch the games from AmigaDOS. No loading times. Why don't you like it, boing4000? Just because you don't get to see the cool cracktros? :)

I do not own a WHDLoad licence. In this case the AmigaOS boot time and slow type message already take longer than most ADF loading time.
Beside that I do like the floppy access (and cracktros :)) as on real Amiga500, too :)

WHDLoad is a very good choice for AGA and 68020+ machine.

boing4000: I don't know if you know this, but you can still buy a WHDLoad license.

I use it and have a license too, but in direct comparsion i can tell, that some games load faster as ADF on minimig than on my 1200 with ACA1231-42 and WHDLoad.
Stunt Car Racer for Example....half the loading time than on real Amiga. Or Lotus II. Loading the level in a multiplayer-race took less than half the time than on the 1200.

Hi there!

I have a minimig v1.1 with the 4mb mod and ARM controller, running with the YQ100818 firmware from the code repository
I wonder if I could use this 130321 version or some harware mod is needed. As this is not in Google's repository I'm a bit lost (I don't know if the versions there are official, final, tested or whatever)

What ARM firware should I use?
Is it advised to upgrade?

Well, thanks a lot for for your time and for the updated firmwares!!

Yes, you can use FSB130321 on your Minimig with 100818 ARM firmware.
My cores are just modifications of the original YQ sources.
It is tested as good as possible. In fact there is no "official release" since we all are private person and try to make Minimig better as a hobby project :)

By now there is 2 ARM firmware available.
The original YQ release and the new-menu one adapted by "minimig_emu" with some more feature.
Both work fine with all FPGA core since 100818 (2010.08.18) and newer.
