There is no risk, Minimig will not blow-up due to mismatching file release.

Your PIC just need to have current PGL100818 firmware inside the flash to use 100818 and all new (inclusing the current 120420) FPGA core.
A lower PIC/ARM Firmware will just lead to a red screen and "Incompatible MCU Firmware" message.

If your are unsure:
- Backup existing "Minimig1.bin" file of your sd-card and store the current one into cards root and start Minimig.
- When the screen stay blue and ROM image is uploading, PIC already has a matching firmware running.
- When the screen turn red and nothing else happen, you have to update/flash the PIC via RS232/COM or restore the old Minimig1.bin file.

Looks like it worked for me ! Was running 100818 FPGA .bin before so I guess the PIC must have been something like that as well.

Hi,
this firmware works like a charm, nevertheless I can only activate "dim" scanlines (the "blk" option gives me no scanlines).
Is it normal?
My minimig is a Rev.1.1 4Mib PIC.

Yes its normal. At the BLK setting the CPU Cache in Turbo mode is deactivated too.
I changed the scanline feature to let the OSD always appear without this effect. It would take some more FPGA resources to implement the BLK function again and I assumed this was not used very often.
If required, I will build another core with all current fixes/features and the original scanline function.

No no, you are absolutely right, personally I always use the "DIM" option, 'cause "BLK" is too dark. ;)

Can I suggest an (IMHO) improvement to OSD?
It would be useful if during a disk swap the OSD shows at first the ADF with the same name of the ADF yet in drive.
So if, for instance, I have GLOOM1-2.ADF in DF0, when GLOOM2-2.ADF need to be swapped I can found it at top of the list.
I don't know if this could be done, nevertheless.

The ARM chip provide this function, PIC not if I recall it right.
But you can make it easier by typing first letter of the desired ADF image on the keyboard. File list will jump to the first file starting with the pressed letter and also jump to next file with same letter by additional key hit.

I can not alter or add anything to the PIC or ARM firmware since C(++) is unknown to me.
Also the required compilder is missing. Therefor someone else could take care of it. But PIC flash memory is totally full / in use and there is no more room for any additional feature.

That's great! :o
Thanks.
