boing, does this firmware have the Numlock laptop-style keyboard fix implemented, or will I have to recompile it myself?

Yes this function (or feature) already is included.

Hi boing,
Another suggestion/request:

Would it be possible to have the following features added to the main menu, so that they can be enabled/disabled easily?

1. The floppy drive stepper motor noise
2. Up and Down on the joystick simultaneously to bring up the F12 menu

These features are great, but there are circumstances where it would be useful to be able to disable them easily.
For example, I have a joystick which has one button mapped to Up for platform games, but it's too easy to accidentally hit down while you're jumping which brings up the F12 menu.

And the floppy drive sound is pretty good, but it's not the sort of thing that you'd probably want to have enabled all the time...

Thanks!

I think this may be possible to do.
Until now I don't have any software to re-compile the PIC or ARM sources, which control the OSD in the first place.
Also my knowledge about C(++) coding is very, very poor.

Maybe yaqube can offer this menu entry in the upcomming firmware release.
For me its easy enough to just unplug the buzzer if (really) necessary.

Please remember, this FPGA is nearly filled-up and we need some space for upcomming fixes etc.
The floppy step sound simulation is just for fun and can/will be removed if necessary, to make other more useful things work :)

I understand. It's just that I have a Loriano shell, so it's a bit of effort to plug/unplug the buzzer, and I don't want to spoil his shell by drilling a hole and mounting a switch on it!

And I'm sure the F12 menu is annoying for all users who have wired Up to a button on their joypad.

Personally, I'd rather have the current firmware with these options than a future version without - the compatibility is already good enough for me! :)

Anyway, thanks again for your help so far, the fixes in your core are excellent - and thanks to Yaqube for his continuing minimig support. 8-)

To me compatibility is more important then handling confort.
In fact Minimig already is very handy, more then any real Amiga modell ever was.

But lets see what the future brings :)

Would it be possible to add joystick emulation with arrow keys + CTRL ?
TCDev released a Minimig core with joystick emulation for the ALTERA DE1, but it lacked a menu option to enable/disable it.

I'm posting the DIFF files, wich I applied myself to DE1 090911 core and works great. Maybe it's possible to add it to your alternative core, along with an option to enable/disable it...

regards

Thanks for you idea and the attached .diff file. I will take a look at it asap.

In general it should be possible to add this function. But Im unable to add anything to the OSD by myself due unknown ARM firmware rewrite and compilation.
Therefor the new function would be permanent (like floppy step sound) and this is not really the best way.

The right CTRL key is undefined so far. It should be possible to use this one to activate joy-key emulation without altering the ARM or OSD.
