I have earlier had my Minimig online using the serial port and a nullmodem (well bluetooth really) connection to a Linux box and PPP. How about the MIST? Ideally I would want to use USB ethernet (or wifi), but I understand the USB ports are not exposed to the Amiga side. I also read that for the ST core, there is a NE2000 device present if a given D-Link usb-ethernet dongle is present, that would be nice for the Minimig core too.

Hi,

using the USB ethernet adapter is certainly a possibility for the minimig, I'll just have to write a driver and some glue logic. It's next on the list ;)

Very cool :) Any details about what you hope to achieve? Will it provide a well known device to the Amiga side, or will it need new driver? Can one hope for 100Mbit?

The idea is to make either a PCMCIA- or a Zorro- compatible device so hopefully an existing driver for a NE2000-compatible card can be used. But even if that doesn't work out, writing a new driver shouldn't be a problem, since the SANA driver interface is (surprisingly!) well documented.

As for the speed, 100Mbit/s might be a stretch - even if it could work that fast, the Amiga CPU is too slow to handle data at that speeds. Realistically, I'd be happy with something approaching 10Mbit/s.
