Hi,

I have (mostly) finished my Minimig-Case. I have built in Louspeekers and an LCD Display into the wooden case. The keyboard has a built in Trackball. I have also built in a Power-Supply and rechargable batteries (Last for about 75 minutes). The device weights 1.9kg and only little bigger than an A4 paper.

Nice work! How long did that take to put together?

I don't know exactly, I'm working on it since about 6 months now, but only on weekends and evenings, If you count everything, including planing and searching for devices (like the LCD panel, I bought it on ebay), I think that's it might be more than 200 hours. But it was fun. I always could play a game of Bubble Bobble on it 8-) (for testing...)

t0m -> Can you send more and better quality pictures? It would be also great to see your case inside.

great case with included display!!!! maybe its possible to integrate also a small keyboard directly in the case. then battery-support and you have a little mobile-amiga.

@.misha.: Hi, I just made another picture from the inside of my minimig. The big board on the left side is the VGA adapter for the LCD, the board on the right side is the minimig... The small board at the very left is the audio amplifier. The big block at the left bottom is the power supply (old Toshiba Notebook Power Supply), then the batteries. The small board above the batteries in the center holds the charger circuit and the DC/DC converter.

@AW72: The keyboard is not included because you won't need when you only want to play a little game (modified joystick), batteries are already included.

That is indeed a very fine self made Minimig-screen box :) How long is this system able to run on battery power?
My old lcd screen dont support 50Hz well, else I would build such a think too!

Hi boing4000,

the batteries last for about 75 minutes, then the device needs to go back to the AC line.

Is it an old battery that wasn't holding the usual charge?
