Hi MikeJ and Yaqube.

So far, the daughterboard for the replay has been referred to as...well..."The Daughterboard". Have you guys come up with a name for it ?

How about doing a community poll or a little contest ? Would be cool for the buyers to be part of the naming process :-)

Just give it a original commodore line name Like A68060 or Replay060 just plain and simple :-)

I like that too. Replay060 sounds nice :-) Or maybe follow in the PC-worlds foorsteps and
make it with nice housing + stickers and call it something like "The Interrogator Ninja-2000 SuperFlex" ...hehehe...

I think todays PC graphics cards look insanely lame...looks like childrens toys :-)

Is the actual Daughterboard, we are talking about, is only main to upgrade / be use with the Amiga core ?
If so, it can be a little bit confusing to call it only Replay060 ?

Anyway it's a good idea to give a real name to this great add-on !

Good question. Maybe Yaqube or Mike can answer that. I would guess that you can benefit from the daughterboards goodies using any core available (not just the minimig amiga core) -- but you'd have to make the core aware of the daughterboards units and make drivers and stuff for it to gain from it being connected.

I wonder if a C64 core could benefit from it. It would be super-cool with a c64 core that uses the ethernet port so we can run GEOS and run a IP stack. It would also be awesome with some harddisk emulation in that c64 core using the onboard micro-sd card on the daughterboard.

Now, who do I pay to make such a C64 core :D

Maybe the new Gideon's project implies new core :) ! And maybe somebody is working on it at this moment ?

That board looks promising. As one of the posts say, "these are exciting times". And it sure it.
I still look forward for a well working core for the replay board.

However, I have my doubts that a core will ever be made on any fpga-solution that fully (99,9999%) emulates
the c64. Most demos bugs on emulators or fpga's...and that is sad. But, correct me if I am wrong here....things might have evolved
since I last checked :)

I have a working core for c64 for the minimig and it works..you just wire up the 1541 to the spare ports on the minimig and..voila,
you can load from a real c64 drive. Although, this core is not for release as I got a test-copy from Mr Boing over av amiga.org and
I have to respect his wish not to release it as it holds the ROM files inside the core so it would be a copyright-violation.

Neverthless, I am sure that a nice core will eventually come out for the replay and the minimig....some day...somehow.......i hope :-)
