As of last night's build, AROS should now work just fine on the FPGAArcade Replay. I'm still trying to figure out some HDD issues (probably all my fault), but it can boot floppies and bring up Workbook.

I'll post pictures on my site (http://www.evillabs.net) when I get some time this evening.

Looking good!

I have given it a try and it finally works with my board and the 060 CPU. I had to make some changes to HDD emulation code. Probably there are still some issues with interrupt handling.

This is my OS3.1 partition booted by the AROS ROM (110531).

HDD emulation code in AROS, or in the Replay's A1200 IDE RTL?

If it's a defect in AROS, I'd love to have your patch, so that I can integrate it.

PS: This same binary works just fine on my 'real' A1200 with a CF IDE device, but maybe its timing related...

Oh, and my apologies for the state of Workbook. I'm not a GUI programmer by any means. I should really spend some time on fixing it up some more.

Actually the ARM firmware is mainly responsible for HDD emulation. For performance reasons during PIO-in transfers the IRQ is set as soon as the first word is written by the ARM to the receive FIFO. If the CPU reads data faster than they are written then the CPU is held off until there are new data in the FIFO. It works very well with the original scsi.device but not so good with current AROS implementation. I will take a more thorough look at the AROS sources to figure out what's wrong.

The key directories you want to look at are:

AROS/arch/m68k-amiga/devs/ata/
and
AROS/rom/devs/ata

The m68k directory will override any identical files in the 'rom' directory.

Toni Wilen is the ATA guru for AROS m68k. If you don't have his contact information, I can PM it to you.

Thanks for the tips. I have already had a brief view of the code so I know where to look for. I can get in touch with Toni if needed.

yaqube, did you change someting to the chipset core to get AROS to work?
My own test run only result in a wild-crash (cpu wildly poke into all chipset register) and nothing else ;)

Or will it be impossible to run on MinimigV1 board...

The only thing required is support for 1MB ROM. Some time ago I tried it to run on the Minimig V1.1 board and it ran just fine (at that time it didn't have hard disk support but booted from the floppy without any problem).
