I wonder if you who have the inner specs of the Replay board could maybe make a little comparison table for the MiniMig and the Replay board. It would be nice to see what is better on the Replay board, what more it can be used for and what we could expect from the amiga core when running on this core (speeds, 680x0 simulation types, benchmarks etc...).

I dont own a Replay board yet.
But according to some benchmark, the TG68k core is approx. twice as fast as a standard A1200 while still clocked at synchron 14MHz. Im sure more detailled info will come as soon as there is any news to report.

Merry christmas too :)

How about the fpga. How much lager array does it have compared to the one of the minimig ? Is it so large that its current core is filling up 50% ?...80% ? 10 % ? ...oh I can't wait to get that replay board. :-) Just got email from Mike that I was on the list to get one as soon as the first batch is ready for shipping. And with the daughterboard from Yaqube, it is gonna be so insanely überkØØl :-)

Minimig FPGA: 400K gates
FPGAARCADE FPGA: 1600K gates
FPGAARCADE FPGA Full 60% minimig core+softcore (CPU).
Top speed I have seen off this softcore on a FPGAARCADE board: 14.11 X A1200 faster then a Blizzard MKIV @ 50Mhz.

You can find all info back on this forum.

Even though MiniMig pioneered with his HW design, it was bound to come newcomer with larger array and more nifty bits. The "demand" for an AGA edition of the core was probably already on the first minimig users mind even before they first booted their minimigs :) I think that it is "how we are". We want AGA when it does not exist in MiniMig. We want 060, we want RTG, USB and the lot. Not always because we need it for retrogaming purposes, but becuase it is: COOL :-)

The replay board proves to be a very nice piece of HW. Not only as a A500/A1200 gaming station, but also a cool option as a desktop A4000 replacement unit. I can't wait to get my hands on it. I just sold my MiniMig ITX-V2, but I won't need it when I have a replay board :-)

Merry XMAS !!!

Technically I can share this AGA-enthusiasm, but not that much in personal use.
For sure it all will help to let Amiga system exist beyond original hardware livetime :)

I got my Replay board yesterday and I will power up the baby as soon as I get the core downloaded. The build of the board is nice and the size is pretty small. I will have to try to find a mini itx cabinet in plastic and saw out a piece of the case and glue the end back so that it is 0,5 x the depth of a normal 17x17 dimension. My personal use for the Replay board is to use it as

a) An amiga desktop replacement and adding the daughterboard from Yaqube will definitely make it a killer config for desktop use :)
b) As an amiga gaming station
c) To run optional cores for fun and hopefully as a replacement for my old >C64 which takes up deskspace.

I will add the replay board on the back of a large screen and add wireless kbd+mouse and use my adapters for using wireless psx controllers so that I am not bound to use wires (I hate wires...wires are crap ...crap I say...aaaarghhh :) )

I can't wait to have this baby up and running.

Would love to hear (and see!) more details. Have you had time to set it up yet?

Very excited about the prospect of this board.

I'm also very interested in a return of experience about it ! :)

Did you contact Mike for a beta test on the pre-released board ?
